Okay, I know what you’re thinking. Yes, everything is better with drinking. But hear me out… Drinking has become such a normalized sub-culture that it has become the MAIN-culture. Like you can’t do anything without drinking these days. You can find it anywhere - your local grocery store, convenience store, movie theater, spa, you name it. I remember one birthday I decided to celebrate my birthday at a spa to do something different. This spa.. top of the line like feels like you left the country. But they had a 100% dry bar policy. I will not speak on what we did to advert that… so anyway at the time, I thought it was absurd to go to a spa without drinking. But after a few years I said, yea why do I actually need a drink to relax. Isn’t the point of a spa to relax? And If I can’t get that from the spa environment without a drink, I have bigger problems. Now don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying I expect this to be the case always, I still enjoy spas that allow alcohol, but I’m tired of feeling like alcohol MUST be included to have a good time. Hence the birth of this post. See below the list I came up with as an alternative to drinking for the days when you don’t want to drink, feeling a little hungover or maybe can’t drink for other reasons.
